Knocked off stuart highway today. Great feeling rolling into port augusta. Changed oil at one of the friendliest motorcycle shops in australia. The owner let me use his tools and he sold me oil at wholesale price. Love australia! Me now in broken hill, which is I think one of the nicest outback towns i've visited so far. Was also riding the first twisties since 2 weeks when hitting the ranges - boy that felt good. Two more days and I am back in sydney.

Just crossed the state border into south australia this morning. Freezing cold. Wearing all my thermals. Not sure if I can make it all the way to port augusta - well see. At least the bike is running.

Can you believe it? Ahead of eta the fuel filter has arrived today, now its just a mater of getting back to uluru and we are back in business! Boo-ya!

Believe it or not but the bike broke down in the middle of nowhere - literally! We are at uluru and the fuel filter is leaking petrol straight onto the engine and exhaust. Next bmw dealer is in adelaide. That pretty much spoils the holiday. Now trying to organise a new filter.

Just arrived in alice springs. City looks nothing like I had it imagined. Took some panorama photos at anzac hill, which gives a nice overview over the city.

Last fuel stop before darwin. More than 300 bikes by now. Will get official police escort on last 25 km. Never seen so many different bikes in one spot. Much better than going to your local dealer.

Almost there! Crazy long day today. Really need a break now. But tomorrow we will be in darwin. Today we were travelling along stuart highway. Landscape was morphing from grass plains to shrub to sort of bush forest. Trees were getting taller with every kilometre pushing north. Came past a plane today that looked like being crash landed next to the highway.
